Policy influencing is what we do to influence positive change with local, regional and national government. We want to be a voice for our members and service users and use your views and experiences to influence the kind of changes we want to see.
Some of the things we are doing in 2020 are:
- Representing our members during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. We’ve been working closely with other Disabled People’s User Led Organisations (DPULOs) like CCIL around the country to influence the response to Coronavirus in government, the NHS and other areas that affect disabled people like access to supermarkets, personal protective equipment (PPE) and changes to care.
- Representing CCIL at the Disability Unit Regional Stakeholder Network. The Disability Unit is a part of government that makes sure disabled people are considered in all government departments and decision making. We will be contributing to a new regional network of disabled people’s organisation to influence national government.
- Working with local authorities on issues that matter to our members, such as changes to policies and procedures.
Want to be involved? We need your views and experiences to influence policy, so please sign up to our policy network.
